Richard M. Rairigh, MS

Richard joined the CHWR team in 2021 serving as a Physical Activity Educational Advisor.  Richard received his Master of Physical Education Teacher Education from West Virginia University and pursued doctoral studies at the University of South Carolina in the area of motor development and motor learning.  For the last 15 years, has served as the director of Be Active Kids®, an award winning state-wide early childhood health program.  He has focused his career on teaching, training, and advising adults on creating active and playful environments for young children so that they may lead healthy active lives.  Rich is passionate about setting a stage for children’s self-directed, free play in nature as a means to develop the whole child.
